Hello everyone. My name is Shawn and I’m a Marriage & Family Therapist in-training. I am currently working on finishing my M.S degree with aspirations to work with various communities on tackling the problems and dysfunctions faced in American families.

As a concerned American, I feel it is time to heal this nation and aid its seeds to find a prosperous and wholesome course to live out their lives in an autonomous and fulfilling manner. I feel the place for this therapy is within the family setting; which comprises the fabric of any society. The landscape of the American family has changed so drastically within the past 50-60 years that it becomes difficult to pin-point a specific element that has caused that change. One thing however, is clear, and that is that our continued success as a nation in other means has often come at the expense of the valuable relationships we had to ignore to achieve that success. It is my hope that the small work that I do will try to help families restore that balance of personal and interpersonal success by making a lasting contribution to the strength of our communities and assist families in returning the importance of the value of healthy intimate relationships.

I am also a writer and go by the pen-name “Ruhudeen Ali.” ‘Ruhudeen’ means “Spirit of the faith” and ‘Ali’ means “exalted.”
